While I don’t even want to start thinking about fall transition or the end of summer, because summer flew by wayyy too fast and didn’t even feel like a summer, I am VERY excited to break out alllll the booties again. Also very ready for LA to be under 98 degrees and back to 75 and sunny on the regular (my hair will also be grateful…)
Since I am based in Los Angeles, I am lucky to have a few months left of summer. My family in Wisconsin? Not so fortunate. However, I am pretty excited for fall and winter this year because this will be my first full blown fall and winter experience in NYC ~ and you bet I’m going to be wearing all the seasonal things! From faux fur coats, corduroy, to over the knee boots, while ice skating at Central Park and sipping cappuccino with my french beret hat on at a cafe on Saks 5th Ave. (okay okay I know I sound like a tourist but it’s v exciting after not having winter for four years except weekends in NorCal).
Now to talk about this flirty girly look! I had so much fun shooting at the Venice Canals this weekend and have a few more fun & semi-transitional looks planned to share with you guys! First one being this floral midi dress with white studded boots! (Fun fact: my first photographer, whom I hadn’t worked with before, backed out 2 HOURS before we were supposed to shoot..at golden hour… I was so grateful to have a friend willing to help me out and ended up being so much fun. Kudos to him for A) – being so supportive and B) – for killing it with the shots & not making it awkward!! Blogger friends you know what I mean…*insert cheesey smile face*)
Back to talking about this look – bc what’s so new and exciting about a midi floral slip dress? Besides that slip dresses are life…(no bra required) …. it’s really about THESE BOOTS! At first when I paired this together, it was an accident. I originally picked out a pair of nude scallop detailed heels, but then decided to do something different from my usual and swap out the nude heels for some sassier booties.
I’d have to say my most favorite thing in my closet right now are all my white boots/cowboy boots/booties. Alexander Wang designed a pair this season but coming from a girl still trying to pay off her student loan debt and pay her annoying LA rent on time, I went on the hunt for a dupe and hit the JACKPOT. Unfortunately, the pair I got from @LuLu’s sold out – however I’m linking the EXACT same shoe @Lola Shoetique below and it’s on sale for under $50!! Also linking some other options if you don’t like studs or looking for designer.
Some people may not like to mix and match their styles – florals + studs, plaid + lace, stripes + leather, neon color + denim; however, I am ALL about it. Even though my wardrobe is 80% nudes and black, I do have some colors thrown in there, and maybe two patterns (gingham and floral). Let’s say – I’m branching out thanks to this season’s trends with animal print and bold color coming out to play.
I’m recently a HUGE sucker for muted cozy fall tones like marigold, amber-orange, slate blue, olive green and mauve! I never use to like muddy colors, however, they are growing on me more and more. Now that I’m blonde and nowhere near as tan as usual, I’m actually starting to pull off the marigold color, WOO!
Lately I’ve had a couple people comment they would like to see more of my workwear / day-to-day outfits. Of course, I wish I had time to shoot more real time OOTD’s during the week, however my full-time work schedule just does not permit. Usually by the time I am out of the office, the sun is setting and there’s no daylight left to shoot. HOWEVER, I am making plans and booking shoots to be able to share more regularly and on a consistent basis (blog post included).
– I am wearing a size XS – I’m 5’6″ , 25 waist, 32B bust. If you are larger chested, I recommend sizing up because the zipper was a bit tight on me and the front chest area doesn’t tie very tight to cover the girls. SHOP NOW
PICTURED: LuLu’s – in Dusty Sage Floral, $74
Pattern Opt #2 – LuLu’s – in Light Blue Floral, $74
– I am wearing a size 8 / 39 – and fit like a glove! I recommend wearing thin little stocking socks or no show socks to make it easier to take on and off but they are SO COMFORTABLE! The zipper can get a little tight but once you stand up you don’t feel it.

Not a fan of white boots? I’m also currently obsessed with sock booties – and think a nude or blush/nude/amber-orange color would look SO CUTE.
I also want to start sharing more about my general day-to-day. I know I share a lot of swimwear, beaches and palm tree photos, however that’s just not my daily reality. What do you guys want to know more about or read more about? I’d love to know! Comment below or on my lastest instagram post.
NOTE – no bras were used in the making of these photos
