Ever since I picked up my first Vogue and flipped through pages of couture and read through runway editorials of Marie Claire while watching Carrie Bradshaw strut across the Upper East Side on SATC wearing Manolo Blahniks on a Tuesday afternoon, I have DREAMED of going to NYFW. While, no, I was not front row at Balenciaga or Fendi (yet!!), I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to experience all the creativity, passion, and energy that goes into each showcase I saw on the runway.
This year’s trends have been nothing bold, chic and very street-style-luxe. From animal print (my favorite) to metallics, bows + ruffles, sheer blouses, the color green (my 2nd favorite) and chunky tennis shoes, each have made their appearances this season and I’ve LOVED seeing how other bloggers have styled and combined these trends as we transition into fall.
Being my first Fashion Week ~ I took a full week to outfit plan, and a full 2-hours at 2am the day before departure to actually pack (whoops; but I wasn’t going to sleep anyways). I’m going to share with you each style I put together, what shows I wore it to and who/what/wear I got the inspo from!
P.S: Did I mention I brought my best friend along for NYFW for her bday? I mean, GOALS!! We had the best time skipping around the city high on life and mac and cheese because that’s all that ever sounded good to either of us. I wouldn’t have survived the crazy week without her.
DAY ONE – Ulla Johnson @ TheRealReal + Style Fashion Week
First event of the night was the preview showcase for Ulla Johnson at The RealReal in Soho, an upscale retailer selling luxury designer labels at up to 90% off. We watched the presentation then enjoyed some champagne while we walked around and checked out all of the Gucci, Chanel, Balenciaga options. Next, we were off to Style Fashion Week Opening night where we saw four different runways showcasing a variety of styles and collections.

We sat front + second row for all of the shows, giving us an up-close and personal look at each style that came down the runway. From couture gowns to bold swimwear and power suits, there was a magnificent variety of collections, including menswear and some youth collections.

Wondering where all I ate, drank and grabbed coffee? See my list below! Also including a couple places I would HIGHLY recommend, however I didn’t make it to. & you can also check out my other blog post where I talk more about my full time job plus my side gig. I’m still working on my “Why” – as it seems to change the more I learn, the more people I meet and the more opportunities that open up!
Rooftop Pick: Public Hotel @ 215 Chrystie St, New York, NY 10002 (East Village) – I swear this is the best view in all of Manhattan – you can see clear from the Empire State Building to the World Trade Tower, go before sunset and grab a drink!
Brunch Pick: Vin Et Fleurs @ 69 Thompson St, New York, NY 10012 (Soho) – give me all the insta-worthy floral vibes with ivy and greenery decor galore! This dreamy restaurant boasts a minimalist French ambiance with an American twist, not to mention offer pitchers of mimosas at brunch. #signmeup.
Dinner Pick: Pietra Nolita @174 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012 (Lower Manhattan) once again, this insta-work pink sensation of a restaurant does not disappoint. Serving healthy Italian cuisine and robust drinks, I seriously enjoyed the special of the night – lobster ravioli with a true moscow mule. Little on the pricey side however for what you get and this location it doesn’t get any better! Only downer is no reservations and the venue is quaint so arrive early if you don’t want to have a long wait. If you’re looking for a more extensive menu check out my other favorite Italian options!
Coffee Pick: Corvo Coffee @ 542 9th Ave, New York, NY 10018 (Time Square West) – I usually always aim for a good Dunkin Donuts trip, however, this gem popped up right next to our hotel and y’all it was some of THEE best coffee I have ever had. I didn’t have to add ANYTHING to make it better, it was like he knew my perfect potion and balance to make it just right for me. Not to mention their muffins and breakfast croissants are to die for.
This is one of the longest blog posts I think I’ve ever written and it definitely took me a few days so I hope you all enjoyed reading about my trip, the shows, my outfits and some of the spots we hit along the way! Everything is linked.
